There are choices a teenager can make
Prevention
Prevention is the best way to avoid Teenage Pregnancy. Teenagers need to have comprehensive understanding and knowledge about abstinence, contraceptive techniques, and the consequences. However, the best and most effective way to prevent it is simply not having sex.
Adoption
Adoption is an option for many teenage mothers with reasons like not being able to support the child, wanting to pursue own goals as a teenager, etc. However, there are Pros and Cons of adoption.
Pros
The birth mother can choose the adoptive parents of the child
It is an opportunity to give the child the best life they could have
Peace of mind for the safety and security of the child
A chance for the teenage birth mother to pursue own goals
Cons
Birth mothers have no legal rights to their adopted birth children
Going though grief process in the long-term
Possibility of regretting the choice for adoption
Some wont understand and respect the choice for adoption
Raising a Child
When considering parenting or adoption the first thing to be considered is parenting. Talk to the people who support you like family to find out if they can help in raising your baby.
